THE WEEKLY MUCK WEEK 4!!!

Man oh man has this season been flying by or what?! I don't know about you but that is what it sure feels like for the Swamper, and you know what that means.....LET THE CHAOS BEGIN!!! Now we are getting into the nitty gritty of the season and we are starting to find out who teams really are. Those beginning of the season mirajes are dimming and we are getting to see these teams enough to have their true colors begin to shine through. After today and four weeks are in the books, we will know which team is headed in which direction. Who is for real and who is a phony. This is where the season really gets exciting and we get to see some real marquee matchups and we have a couple on tap today!!! Swampee has been having a rough start to the season but I am a firm believer in the fact that I am finally starting to settle in the Muck and have a real good feel for what these teams are capable of. Yes, I was fooled a few times already so far and shame on me (Bucs, Skins) and if I get fooled once again, well then I am just a dummy! I am willing to bet that I shall be in the zone from here on out however. Let's dive right into this weeks Muck 5!

***HOUSTON TEXANS -3***

This team just got spanked and served up their first loss last week when they went in to NJ and the winless GMen took them out back and shot them dead. As we saw last Thursday however, the Gmen are no slouch and seem to have found themselves and look more like the Giants of old. I think that Houston going back home today and hosting the wounded Buffalo Bills who also were just served their first loss by the San Diego Chargers last weekend, will take advantage of this and bounce back in a big way today. I think the Texan defense was gashed last weekend and smoked by the Giants and that definitely has had them steaming all week long. JJ Watt and co will come to play today and will be all over EJ Manuel who has yet to prove that he can be a consistent successful starting NFL QB. On the other side of the ball veteran QB Fitzpatrick will be playing his former beloved Buffalo Bill team and will be on point today. This is a QB who's greatest asset is his brain. He will manage the game perfectly today and they will run the ball with their stud RB Arian Foster as they get him back from injury today. The holes in the defense will be there to take advantage of with Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins and they will be exploited after the run game is established. Texans defend their house today and get it done. Houston -3!

***BALTIMORE RAVENS -3***

This Raven team is for real. I think they are about to go on a run here and string together some impressive wins. Last week they managed to hang in there and pull out a last minute win against their rival the Cleveland Browns in their own house. The Browns played their best game and had every right to win that game. However the Ravens were STILL able to deflect the Brown's best effort and get the job done on the road in dramatic fashion. A big reason to the Raven's early success is veteran WR acquisition Steve Smith, AKA Mighty Mouse. Smith was dropped by his lifelong squad the Carolina Panthers who by coincedence, also seem to be coming into town today to take on the Black Birds and Steve Smith. Smith is JUICED up for this game and wants nothing more than to exploit his former team and show them why they made a HUGE mistake in letting him go to another team and that they will surely miss him. The Panthers have done nothing to impress me besides their defense playing very well however they were gashed last weekend by the Steelers and exploited. The Black Birds rally around Smith today and help him seek revenge against his former team and get the win at home. They will be AMPED and this place will be ROCKING. Black Birds -3!

***TAMPA BAY BUCANEERS +7.5***

I know, I know. How could I back a terrible squad like this after the abismal display of football that they put on last Thursday Night during a prime time game against Atlanta? Easily, because now the best Tampa Bay QB will finally be under center. Mike Glennon, or as I like to call him McGlovin, will be taking the snaps today and leading his wounded Bucaneer team into Pittsburgh to take on Big Ben and the Steelers. The Steelers are coming off of a HUGE win in Carolina last Sunday night and look tough. However I think they have a little bit of a let down game today and are banged up enough where they just may let a team like the Bucs come into their house and show them up. The Bucs were straight up embarassed last week so I got to believe that Lovie Smith has not let his team forget that fact all week and has them ready to give their best effort. Sometimes a team just has a game like this where everything seems to go wrong, and the other team has everything go right. I think that was the case last Thursday night and it wasn't for lack of talent as the Bucs have plenty of studs all over the place, especially on the offensive side of the ball. They get their RB Doug Martin back today and I think with Glennon finally starting, will breath new life into this team and he will utilize his two big targets Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson today in a big way to make everyone say wow, the Bucs can play when they want to. They keep this one close, if not win outright with an upset! BUCS +7.5!

***Jacksonville Jaguars +14***

WHAAAAAT?! The Jags?! I know they have looked awful thus far. However I believe that this is another case of a new QB starting the game and will breath new life into this offense. I think Blake Bortles is the real deal and why he hasn't started since day 1 boggles my mind. He will go toe to toe with Rivers today and a banged up Chargers squad just may get caught sleeping a bit today on a dangerous and hungry Jags team who are coming off of a bad loss. The Jags are very well coached and have some talent on both sides of the ball and are not as bad as they seem, especially when their rookie QB is under center. I think Bortles impresses us today and makes the NFL say wow this kid can hang! and that the Jags just may have found their future franchise QB! Jaggies +14.

***San Francisco 49ers -5***

The Niners are a team that I have been fading all along so far this season. I have noticed that they don't seem to be themselves and that Kapernick has not played well at all this year. The league has figured him out I think and with all the injuries and absences to their big time players on the defensive side of the ball, they are just lost. Today the motivated Niners at home will get back to their bread and butter, running the rock. Look for Frank Gore and Rookie Carlos Hyde to have a HUGE day today as they wear that Philly defense down all game long and take advantage of their tired legs after a long overtime war last weekend against their rival Redskins. There is no way that Philly will be jacked up enough or anywhere near where they have to be in order to go into SF and play a pissed off Harbaugh and 49er squad and get a win. Chip Kelly and his birdies get spanked today in sunny SF. Niners in a romp!

Alright ladies and germs that about does it for the Muck 5 this week! I had a tough time picking these games because there were a few others that I loved. I like Minnesota big time as well but chose to stay away with only 3 points to offer. However I do love Bridgewater and think they hang tough with a ATL team who left everything out on the field last Thursday Night. I also LOVE the night game and will be back to tell you who I like there a bit later tonight! I am off to enjoy the Jets Lions game and head into Gang Green country sporting my Barry Sanders Jersey, god help the Swamp Man! Enjoy the games today everyone, Swampy Loves ya!!!!
