***SWAMP'S WEEK 12 IN THE MUCK***

Very little time to post today so again, I will keep this short and sweet for the sake of time. The Swamp has been on fire lately, let's keep it going:

***DETROIT LIONS +7.5***

The Lions have a real test today. Last week they fell short against one of the best defenses in the league in a real hostile envoirnment AKA the desert of Arizona. I think they go on the road today and hold their own against the mighty mighty Patriots who have been on a tear ever since getting embarassed in KC many Monday Night Footballs ago. It is no secret that the blueprint to beat Tom Brady is stellar defensive line play. I think Suh and the boys get in his face often in some misty conditions and this thing gets ugly. I see the Lions keeping it close, if not winning outright to make a statement that they are a for real contender and not to be taken lightly.

***PHILADELPHIA EAGLES -11***

The Eagles were embarassed last weekend in Green Bay just as predicted. However today they are back home in their comfort zone hosting a Tennesee team who just gave it their all last Monday Night at home against Pittsburgh and although faired well, fell short of a win. I think this definitely drained them a bit and broke them. They will find it tough today to come into Philadelphia motivated and compete with a pissed off Philly defense whose secondary will victimize the young Mettenberger. Oh and did you see the way they could not stop Steeler's RB Bell for the life of them last week? Expect Shady McCoy and Sproles to have a huge day today and the Birds to win big.

***HOUSTON TEXANS -1.5***

The Texans are starting to play well and defeated a very good Cleveland Browns team on the road last week behind new QB Ryan Mallet. I like the way Mallet was standing strong in the pocket and slinging the rock and I don't see him having much diffculty doing the same against this wounded Cincinatti defense. Bengal's QB Andy Dalton will be under the gun against phenom DE JJ Watt all game. Expect a few costly turnovers for the Bungs and Houston to look strong and get the win at home today.

***TAMPA BAY BUCS +5***

The Bucs are a struggling team in the NFL that is no secret, however they have been putting together some nice play as of late. Today they head into rainy Chicago where Tampa Head Coach Lovie Smith and QB Josh McCown set to face their old team. DA BEARZ have been lucky to pull out some wins lately despite having a horrible defense. This one may be a shootout between the weapons Bear's QB Jay Cutler has at his disposal as well as Tampa's surging rookie WR Mike Evans and veteran Vincent Jackson for McCown as deep threats. I think Tampa comes motivated to try and put together another strong effort to win one for their Head Coach and McCown won't hold back either and will take some shots deep against the poor Chicago secondary. This one will be close either way.

***MIAMI DOLPHINS +7***

The 'Phins have in my opinion one of the best defenses in the NFL. Between monster DE Cameron Wake and shutdown cornerback Brent Grimes, I like their chances of messing up Denver's offensive plans today. Grimes will eliminate a WR for Manning each play while he is under severe pressure from the Miami defensive line. This as we saw last week against St. Louis, can be a real problem for Peyton. I think Miami is very focused right now and rolling on all cylinders despite some injuries on offense. QB Ryan Tannehill is playing well and I think he continues to do so today, or at least enough to keep them within the number along with help from their defense of course to keep the Broncos limited on the scoreboard. The Fish will make this a game.

Enjoy the games everybody, sorry about the delayed post. The Swamp has been quite busy as of late. Be back later for the night game, and remember Swampy loves ya!
