MNF IN THE SWAMP

***NEW YORK JETS @ INDIANAPOLIS COLTS***

The SwampMan had a strong Sunday to bounce back from a week 1 sham! Although I was unable to write-up my Sunday Night Football pick, I posted it on my Twitter which hopefully was seen by anyone looking for it! If not I apologize as the Pack held me down to go 4-2 on the day. It was a Muck Man type of Sunday as the dawgies were out and BARKING! I think week 2 gets a bow tied on it with one more upset tonight and here is why-

I know it is early, but these two teams are headed in opposite directions. The Jets really have a solid team and are headed in the right direction under new HC Todd Bowles. If QB Ryan Fitzpatrick can not turn the ball over and just play an effective game manager, this team can be a force. As we saw this week the Brown's defense is no slouche and the Jets were able to find success against it. Tonight they face a defense that pretty much has a nonexistant pass-rush. Therefore, I don't think Fitzy runs into much trouble tonight in the pocket and will be able to hit his guys in Marshall and Decker. Also important to note I think that Fitz has spent some quality time in Indy's division while playing for both Tennesee and Houston, so visiting Lucas Oil Stadium and experiencing a ruckus crowd there will be nothing new. He is a very smart QB and knows his role on this team. A heavy dose of Beast RB Chris Ivory will most likely be part of the gameplan tonight to try and limit Luck and the Colt's time of possession. I don't see the Colts being able to take this guy down on the first hit, he will be a horse tonight for sure.

The Colts were straight up embarassed last weekend in Buffalo as their offense got abused. Luck and that terrible offensive line faces a similar defense tonight with the Jets and as much as they want to have a different result, I don't think they will. I do think Luck will have a better game than he did last week and really try to put his team on his back tonight but it won't be enough. Their offensive line is a real problem, and while Luck is an amazing young QB in this league, he can only do so much on his own. As I mentioned last week, I still think it will take another game or two to find their groove with their new aqcuisitions in Gore, Johnson, and rookie Dorsett. Add to all of this that WR TY HIlton is banged up as well as the Indy CBs and I think the Colts are the next highly regarded team coming into this season to start 0-2. Tough Luck tonight for Indy, take the generous points with a new regime Gang Green! JETS +7
