SWAMPIT SNF - BRONCOS @ LIONS

***DENVER BRONCOS @ DETROIT LIONS***

The Lions had high hopes this season after ending last year with such a bad taste in their mouths. Yes they lost their top defensive player in Suh, but have made necessary moves to accomodate for this. They started the season on a brutal road trip playing guest to two home openers against the Chargers and Vikings. Both of those teams I believe are very good, which makes for a very interesting game between those two this afternoon. My point is, the Lions are not nearly as bad as they seem. Tonight they finally get to have their home opener and in a Prime Time spot nonetheless on SNF just to add a little more energy to feed off of. This place will be ROCKING and desperate for a Lion win. Peyton Manning and the Broncos are very fortunate to be sitting at 2-0 after a close game against the Ravens in Denver week 1 that could have gone either way and a HUGE win in Kansas City last Thursday where the ball just happen to bounce their way, literally. Tonight I don't like the Sheriff's chances as he is a statue in the pocket and the Lions defensive front will be salivating to get after him. They will be in his face and we will see a great effort from that pass rush tonight in must win mode. The Broncos run game is nonexistant and they will be forced to keep the pass up when the Lions go up early on the scoreboard. As good as Denver's defense has been, Stafford and the boys are due to light it up and I believe after two crummy performances, they will make the proper adjustments after watching some tape and get it going tonight. Look for Golden Tate to be a major presence being the YAC monster he is getting this offense some momentum. Calvin Johnson has been a ghost thus far and I know Stafford will want to change that and give his long time partner in crime some love on the big stage tonight. Lastly, tight end Eric Ebron finally seems to be finding his role in this offense and actually catching the ball when thrown to. Lions win outright here and look more like the team from last year that could score at will and play shutdown defense. Defend the den! LIONS +3
