***SNF IN THE SWAMP - NYG @ GB***
***NEW YORK GIANTS @ GREEN BAY PACKERS***
The Packers were able to get a feel good win as they beat up on their division opponent the Detroit Lions before heading into their bye week. Tonight they will host the reeling New York Giants who have lost two straight and have been the center of controversy for all the wrong reasons. WR phenom Odell Beckham Jr. has been a public distraction during these two losses visibly throwing temper tantrums in the game and on the sidelines when things aren't going his way. He has come out and tried to clarify his emotions in the media and it has only seemed to have backfired. The guy has seemed to have replaced Patriots QB as the NFL's Public Enemy Number 1. That being said I fully expect him to have a huge night and take advantage of the banged up Green Bay secondary in this game. The Packers defense is not what it used to be and is hurting especially in the secondary and they seem to be average at best. After QB Aaron Rodgers quickly destroyed the Lions secondary in week 3, the Lions fought back and actually were able to make it a game in the fourth quarter fairly easily with their passing game. In week 2, Vikings QB Sam Bradford was able to throw all over the Pack in a game Green Bay likely wants to forget about. Giants QB Eli Manning and his lethal WR core are due for a breakout game and I think this could be just the spot for that to take place. I mean if not now then when right? It is Sunday Night Football on the Prime Time stage in Green Bay where Eli has historically played well mind you, and I just see Beckham, Cruz, & the Rookie Sterling Shepherd having a field day in this one. The Giants for some reason have not been able to get the offense to click the way it should so far and I believe with their backs against the wall will turn it around. NY has spent a ton of money to sure up their defense this offseason and they have definitely improved. Last week against Minnesota on MNF they were pretty much without all of their secondary and the Vikings took advantage. Some of those key pieces in Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and first round draft pick Rookie Eli Apple should be back for this one and that is a huge boost for this defense against Rodgers and the Green Bay passing game. Aside from the Detroit game who is missing their top pass rusher in Ziggy Ansah, we have seen that Rodgers has been under duress in games this season against defenses that can get pressure. I like the new addition of NY LB/DE Olivier Vernon and DE JPP to get in the backfield and create havoc for Rodgers. Of course, on the move is sometimes where A-Rodge is at his best and I fully expect him to get his in this game. I foresee a back and forth game with a ton of points scored, and Big Blue getting a big upset on the big stage. That being said SwampMan will gobble up those generous points here in what should be a close back and forth affair. GIANTS+7
