***TEA & CRUMPETS IN THE SWAMP - NYG VS LA***
***NEW YORK GIANTS VS. LOS ANGELES RAMS***
Across the pond we go again as the Giants and Rams will face off in London for some lovely breakfast football! SwampMan is really starting to dig these Sunday Specials, football all damn day baby. Gotta love it! This morning the struggling Giants will look to build off a big win that they were fortunate enough to squeak out at home versus the Ravens last week. The Rams will be hoping to avoid dropping their third straight game as both teams currently sit with 3-3 records. I must admit, Rams QB Case Keenum has been impressive at times this season and the Rams are off to a better start then I would have guessed but I do expect them to start majorly regressing and believe that the process has already begun. In my mind it is only a matter of time before the Rams lose enough games to chalk up the season as a rebuild and test out their bubble-wrapped top draft pick QB Jared Goff. In their first season in LA, they have already exceeded expectations with some big wins against fellow NFC West opponents Seattle & Arizona. The Giants on the other hand are a team with all the necessary pieces to make a run this year. Their weakness is clearly their offensive line, and that has showed as this offense has yet to really click and reach its potential. The Gmen have arguably one of the best WR cores in the NFL in Beckham, Cruz, and the Rookie Sterling Shepard. QB Eli Manning hasn't been comfortable enough in the pocket and it has shown as he has been inaccurate thus far. Eli is a veteran QB with Manning blood and knows how to improve from his mistakes to make the necessary adjustments in order to do his part. I believe he is due for a big game and today could be the day as London might be in for a very entertaining offensive explosion for Big Blue today. WR Odell Beckham is an International Superstar. You better believe he wants to showcase his talents in the spotlight and will not waste the opportunity to do so. The Giants have a much bigger following overseas than that of the Rams at this point and only a 5 hour flight away and this may feel like more of a home game for NY. NY has drawn some bad attention from the media as they deal with their Kicker Josh Brown and the domestic violence case he is currently involved in. Brown has been put on the Commissioner's Exempt List and the Giants have signed ex-Bears Kicker Robbie Gould to replace him which is pretty solid. The Giants spent big money this offseason to sure up their defense and despite the mediocre production thus far I personally have liked what I have seen from this group. They have had some key injuries but are getting healthier and should be near full strength today. Like the offense, I believe this defensive unit is due for a breakout performance and unfortunately for Keenum and the Rams, I believe that today could also be that day. Rams WR Kenny Britt has really come on strong and seems to finally stepped up to the plate to be a legit number 1 WR in the NFL as he has been Keenum's favorite target. However, the NY lockdown CB Janoris Jenkins will surely be shadowing him in today's game and I think Jenkins will be extra locked in for this one facing his former team. Jenkins is a ball hawk and I can see him baiting Keenum into a interception in this one. Almost time for kickoff, so I will just wrap it up by saying I think the Giants defense will bottle up RB Todd Gurley and force Keenum to beat them, and he won't. I also believe we get round 2 of the Eli & Beckham show and the Gmen will run away with this one. I believe Big Blue will start stringing together some wins and soon become a force down the stretch.
