***MNF IN THE SWAMP - HOU @ DEN***

***HOUSTON TEXANS @ DENVER BRONCOS***

I'm not sure if there is a full moon in Denver tonight but there might as well be as we get to feast on a bad blood matchup on the Prime Time Stage of MNF! Ex-Bronco QB Brock Osweiler returns to the Mile High City to face the team that he left high and dry when he took the money and ran to Houston this offseason. In the spirit of Halloween season, I think it is safe to say that tonight Brock Osweiler might as well be the last human on Earth during a Zombie Apocalypse with the entire Broncos defense playing the part of a pack of rabid zombies, starving for fresh meat! Bronco LB Brandon Marshall has literally come out and stated that they want to "kill" Osweiler, and just in case you were thinking "oh he didn't really mean it like that," he went ahead and confirmed that it is exactly what he meant by following it up with a strong "that's exactly what we want to do." As we saw when Sam Bradford returned to Philly for the first time since leaving this past weekend, this situation provides a strong edge to the opposing defense. As the Swamp predicted in the Muck 5- Week 7 edition, Philly mopped the floor with Bradford yesterday, and I believe the Broncos will do the same with Osweiler here tonight. They know Brock very well by default since he was drafted and nurtured by this organization and will absolutely use it to their advantage in this game. His tendencies, what he likes, what he doesn't like and more will all come into play in favor of the Broncos defense which despite losing some players in the offseason, is still a top unit in this league. With some extra fuel to the fire tonight at home on the big stage, I can't NOT back them against a QB who I haven't been high on since he signed a HUGE contract with Houston in the first place. As I've stated before, I believe the Texans overpaid for the young QB, and in my opinion he is proving that theory right so far this season. I watched Brock during his tenure at Arizona State during some late night degenerate football action and I have always liked him as a QB and was not surprised when he had some success in Denver in relief for the aging Peyton Manning last season. While I understand why he did what he did, I believe that when he left Denver for the big payday, he set himself back a couple steps and that it would show in his first year as a Texan. Not to say he won't eventually become the franchise QB the Texans believed they were signing at the time, but I think he left a perfect scenario for himself to have immediate success in Denver under Head Coach Gary Kubiak and his system. Speaking of Kubiak, he will also be facing his former team and between that factor alone and now coupled with knowing the opposing QB through and through, how can you not love the Ponies in this spot tonight? The Super Bowl Champs coming off of two straight losses, pissed off and at home and salivating to get a shot against their former QB, it almost seems too easy. In fact it seems so lopsided to me that it scares me a little, but if the Osweiler I've seen so far this season comes into Denver and pickles the beast, well then touche' my friend. Brock has talent and seems as if he has what it takes to be an NFL QB, but so far with his new team I feel that the chemistry and trust with his teammates isn't quite there yet. That being said I see this game as a one way street and that is a straight up slaughtering. After watching (and picking) the Texans on SNF last week against the Colts where it took a miracle and pretty much lucky comeback to sneak out of there with a win, I said to myself that Denver will absolutely CRUSH this guy. Even though almost every single player would have done the same thing and chosen the money as well, try telling that to this defense here tonight. I just saw Von Miller get off a bus with a "REVENGE" sweatshirt on, they are using this as motivation and I almost feel bad for the beating the BrockWeiler will most likely have to suffer. As far as the Texans defense goes, despite losing their star DE JJ Watt to injury for the season, they have actually played pretty well. DE Jadeveon Clowney has really stepped up his game and might finally be turning into the player that his high draft pick suggests. Up against a fellow youngster in QB Trevor Siemian, I could see them keeping the Texans in this game for the first half, but eventually I think Siemian will link up with WR Demaryius Thomas and TE Virgil Green to pull away. Look for the Broncos to try and get the ground game going again early in an effort to control the game, it has been nonexistent in recent weeks but they also have been playing from behind in their losses against Atlanta and San Diego. It is almost game time so I will go ahead and shut this down. Von and the boys get after it tonight. BRONCOS-8.5
