***MNF IN THE SWAMP - DET @ NYG***

***DETROIT LIONS @ NEW YORK GIANTS***

I don't have much time for much of a writeup at all here as I am headed to the game in a few minutes. 1-0 Detroit heads into the Meadowlands tonight to take on the 0-1 Giants. Both teams got off to a rocky start however the Lions were able to turn it around against a team in worse shape, the lowly Arizona Cardinals, and pull out a win at home. The Giants on the other hand looked very out of sync without their top WR Odell Beckham Jr., who is still nursing an injury. It remains to be seen if OBJ will be able to give it a go tonight, but regardless we are in for quite the interesting matchup as the Detroit Cardiac Cats hope to maybe play a game where they don't have to make yet another 4th quarter comeback in order to emerge victorious. QB Matt Stafford just got PAID and is now the highest paid player in the NFL, I have always backed this kid and think that he is the real deal. If the Lions were to let him walk and go elsewhere, good luck finding and waiting for another total package QB like him to save you. You may as well greet the Jets and Browns in the QBless hell it can be waiting for your savior. Stafford is a true leader of men, he's smart, he's tough, and he can throw it with the best of them. People forget he took over an historically bad 0-16 team as the number 1 pick and they have slowly but surely been on the rise ever since.

The win over the Arizona Cardinals looks less impressive as we are quickly finding out that Arizona has some big time issues of their own and are not the team so far who we thought they would be. However I did like Detroit's grit and how hard they fought to stay in that game until they were able to turn it around. That defense surprised me with how they were able to fend off the Red Birds when backed up in the Redzone multiple times early on. New Rookie WR Kenny Golladay is looking the part and like he could be a serious deep threat and Stafford's new favorite weapon after the performance he put on in the preseason and late in the game last week to help the Lion's pull out the victory.

The Giants on the other hand got smacked on the road by the Cowboys to open up on Prime Time. They were unable to get anything going and once again held under 20 points for the seventh game straight. The offensive line seems to be the main issue but that might just be the start of it, the running game is nonexistent and it seems as though Eli Manning may need a game or two more to get completely on the same page with his new weapons WR Brandon Marshall and Rookie TE Evan Engram. Those guys are studs and this offense will eventually gel, I just think Head Coach McAdoo needs to revaluate his gameplan and the way this offense attacks. I think it may take one more game I think for them to underperform before any drastic changes like that are made by force. The Lions defense is up and coming once again with some youngsters on that Dline that are under the radar who I believe will get to Eli tonight. On the other side of things Giants CB Janoris Jenkins may also be out and if that is the case it is a HUGE hit to this defense as I believe he is one of the top shutdown CBs in the game. I'm going to wrap this up by saying I think we get a very good matchup as these teams are a bit of a mirror image of each other and that it comes down to a FG either way. That being said, I'm taking the points. LIONS+3
